釉里红是我国的传统釉下彩装饰之一，它是用铜作着色剂的色料在坯体上描绘各种纹样，然后施透明釉经过高温还原气氛烧成，在釉里透出红色的纹样，故称“釉里红”。 因烧成合格品很困难，故其产品极为名贵。釉里红有单独装饰的，但大多数与青花相结合在一起进行装饰而称为“青花釉里红”。其特点既有青花的“幽靓雅到致，沉静安定”的特色，又增添了釉里红的浑厚壮丽，丰富了色彩效果，形成了高雅而又朴实的艺术风格。因此，青花釉里红瓷成为我国珍贵的品种之一。
